United will introduce a dynamic pricing for award flights on United in its MileagePlus program on November 01. When having heard that, the worst had to be feared, notably a nontransparent situation such as with Delta not publishing any award tables anymore. But all not so bad: The cheaper, capacity restricted Saver Awards will be maintained and only the new Everyday Awards will be subject to a dynamic pricing. But even here, award charts with maximum prices will be published. At the same time, reduced awards in Economy Class of only 8,000 miles per one-way journey will be introduced on all partner airlines for flights of up to 800 miles within the same geographic zone. Theoretically, it might be that Delta has a better offer with SkyMiles [but be assured that this is currently not the case!] – but even if so, the normal customer will never know it…
